Over the weekend I learned Arkansans are generally more accepting of same-sex relationships than NFL fans.
As a native Arkansawyer, this makes me happy, if a bit confused.
My theory is that because Arkansas is such an economically depressed state, the people who live there are by default a bit more pragmatic than other poor, depressed people. You of course have your religious fanatics who quote Leviticus at every turn, but increasingly I see fewer fundamentalist ranters in the fold.
The comments on Bleacher Report regarding Michael Sams however made me want to go Ivo Shandor on the planet.
Just had to get that off my chest.

Part of it is because the whole thing is being made into an issue that is taking up time on Sports Center. It is being talked about everywhere as the only thing that is going on with the draft. I would rather watch a recap of the Wizards choking than anything having to do with someone's relationship. That is why I watch ESPN, not Lifetime.
